Cleaning Swab - The alto sax cleaning swab is intended to be pulled through the instrument --- It is the square shaped swab with a circular white sponge type material attached

  1. Using the weighted string, drop the weight through the neck receiver, and carefully rotate your sax until the weight slides into the bell and gently pull the swab through

  2. Take off the neck and mouthpiece before swabbing sax

Necking Cleaning Swab - The neck swab is intended to be pulled through the neck of your saxophone --- it is the X shaped swab

  1. Using the weighted string, drop the weight through an end of the sax neck and gently pull through the swab

  2. Take off the mouthpiece before swabbing the neck

Double Ended Brush - This double ended brush is intended to clean hard to reach areas of your sax --- moving hinge joints where key rods are fitted to posts

  1. Use the bristle end to gently free dust and dirt in the confined keyword areas

  2. Use the brush to clean the freed dust and dirt

Mouthpiece Brush - The mouthpiece brush is used to clean the build up inside the mouthpiece

  1. Run your mouthpiece under warm water

  2. Insert the brush in and out with turning

  3. Be very gentle, don't let the metal tip of the brush touch the inside walls

Reed Guard - Reed guards protect your reeds from chipping, and allow them to dry without warping

  1. This reed guard holds two reeds

  2. Remove your reed from your mouthpiece after playing and insert into guard

Thumb Cushion - This cushion provides a padded support for your thumb

  1. Remove the sticker back from the gray thumb pad and adhere to the bottom of the thumb rest

Cork Grease - Cork grease is used to lubricate the neck cork of your sax

  1. Lightly apply cork grease to the neck cork if needed

  2. Use only enough to allow your mouthpiece to slide on with ease

Polishing Cloth - This cloth is used to remove fingerprints from your instrument --- It's made for lacquered finishes

  1. Gently wipe down surfaces of your instrument that may have fingerprints

  2. Take off the mouthpiece before swabbing clarinet

Cleaning Swab - The flute cleaning swab is intended to be used with a flute cleaning rod

  1. Pull the cleaning cloth through the eye of your cleaning rod

  2. Gently push through the middle joint, and the foot joint (Clean these joints separately)

Double Ended Brush - This double ended brush is intended to clean hard to reach areas of your flute --- moving hinge joints where key rods are fitted to posts

  1. Use the bristle end to gently free dust and dirt in the confined keyword areas

  2. Use the brush to clean the freed dust and dirt

Silver Polishing Cloth - The polishing cloth is for removing tarnish from your flute

  1. Gently wipe tarnished areas of your flute clean

  2. The cloth will begin to appear dirty with black on it, this is normal, do not wash the cloth

Thumb Port - The flute thumb port is intended to help distribute balance while holding

  1. Snap the Thumbport onto the flute at around the F key where you would normally rest your thumb

Meet Sam! 

We're excited to welcome Sam to the A&G team! Sam began playing piano in third grade and clarinet in middle school. She continued her music education at Wayne State University where she received her Bachelor’s in Music with a concentration in Instrumental Music Education. 

It was at Wayne State where Sam discovered her interest in instrument repair, and now she's joining us to continue her education as an instrument repair technician!
