Legere Reeds are a synthetic reed that can be much long-lasting than a cane reed. Legere reeds come in different cuts for different playing styles.

The Classic Cut is durable and offers clear articulations making them ideal for larger ensembles or even marching band.

The Signature Cut is a thinner and stiffer cut allowing for more flexibility and range of tone.

The Studio Cut is bold and punchy.

The European Cut is Legere’s most flexible reed with its ease of play.

Trombone Wraps

Trombones—Open Wrap VS Closed Wrap—what’s the difference?

First, the wrap refers to the F Attachment tubing section of the trombone.

An open wrap on a trombone, like our Yamaha Xeno, has fewer bends and a straighter pathway for the air. It’s a freer blowing option.

A closed wrap, like our Conn 66H, is considered traditional and has tighter wrapped tubing creating more resistance.
