DIVISIONS:
CADET: Any student in Middle School / Junior High
JUNIOR: Any Freshman or Sophomore in High School
SENOR: Any Junior or Senor in High School
EVENTS:
There will be two events in each division. Students may enter one, or both events. Scores are cumulative, winners will be selected based on the total of their scores from all events entered. The more events you enter, the better your chance of winning. The events are:
1. Musical Performance-Be amazing on your instrument
2. Music History, Theory, and Terminology-Take an open book written quiz
For the Musical Performance event, we ask that you play a musical excerpt of your choice that totals no more than 90 seconds. This is your chance to showcase your unique musical ability. Play part of a solo. Perform an original composition. Do something special, technical, or downright amazing. You will be judged based on your musicianship and skill, as well as how unique your ability is. The Music History, Theory, and Terminology event is an open book written quiz. Download the questions and do your best!
SUBMISSIONS:
All performance events can be submitted in one of the
following ways:
1. You Tube Video; E-mail us a link to your entry
2. MP3 Audio File; Send us an MP3 of your
performance via e-mail
3. CD; Burn a CD of your performance and bring it in
to one of our stores
The written event must be submitted, in person, to one of our stores. As a bonus for participating in this event, you will receive an additional discount on any purchase you make when you submit your entry.
AWARDS:
There will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes awarded for each division. Additionally, your school will receive one entry in our prize drawing for each event you enter.
